They're both crops. The FZ50 crop is a larger percentage of the full image. The FZ50 versions use 0.4MP out of the original 10.1, and the 400D versions use 0.05MP out of the original 10.2. The small 400D is a 100% crop, and the large FZ50 is a 100% crop. The other two versions are scaled to match the other camera.
