No, for your application

you definitely need to go with ONE big centralized solution with some kind of super redundancy so you won't have to worry even if a couple of drives fail. Since you apparently HAVE the budget, then go with something solid with multiple redundant drives AND redundant power supplies too, don't forget that part and of course, a big a** UPS with plenty of RUNTIME.

Whatever speed you get out of your NAS or whatever is still going to seem fast comparing to having to hook up a different drive..
