Because Sony's 2008 predictions are conservative.

They are predicting sales of 26 billion in 2008, up 53% from their 2006 sales.

But only a 10.6% increase on 2007

Actually their prediction for 2008 is up 18.2% from their prediction for 2007.

Likewise; they sold 22 billion LCD TVs in 2007, compared to 17 billion in 2006, and are predicting slaes of 26 billion this year. That is also up 53% from 2006.

According to the link you provides
They sold 10.6m LCD in 2007, and 6.3 in 2006

hmmm... I really was having a ditzy day...

10.6 million LCD TVs sold in 2007 ... 6.3 million in 2006 ...
+68% increase in their 2007 sales from their 2006 sales

17 million LCD TVs predicted for 2008 ... 10 million predicted in 2007 ...
+70% increase in their 2008 prediction from their 2007 prediction

+170% increase in their 2008 prediction from their 2006 sales.

But despite all of my errors, I think you get the point. Naesayers can claim whatever they like, Sony is doing well financially.
