I personally use the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. (always on a tripod)

Ive never had a problem with it, and it would be interesting to see a comparison between the Sigma and Canon.

I used to have a Nikon D3 which i sold and kept the 1Ds3, and the Sigma (70-200 f2.8) seems to complement the Canon very well.

I also bought the Canon 100mm f2 which is much sharper at f2 than the Sigma (70-200)is at f2.8 but at about f5.6 i cant tell the difference between the two lenses.
