every time i go to save as and start typing the program stops working and shuts down

Try deleting the cache files manually and give it another go.

did that == did not work ==after doing other trys==finally deleted ==capturenx 1.3==now works fine.

It seems that most of the problems appear on the PC version.

I am using a PC - self built Athlon 2800+, 128 graphics, 3Gb memory, 2 x 500 sata drives with XP Pro 3. Yes it is not the fastest kid off the block but 100% success with 1.3 and 2 trial which I look forward to purchasing.

I am debating over iMac 3.06, 4Gb memory, 512 graphib and 1 Tb hard drives, or Quad core PC for less. What is holding me back? I build and repair PCs but the iMac has to go to Apple agent for hard drive updates etc and repairs. I feel like I am cutting off an arm?

Just moved from Canon to D300 and building up the kit list.

and my wife has my Canon 40D etc

Still looking for a digital back for my Box Brownie.

Have an hp laptop work station with Vista Busniess works fine and love NX2
i dont have to go to photoshop now well not much.
would love to see rotation done by degree,before cropping.
