Re: *Cataloging photos with ThumbsPlus*

Thanks for the advice Mr. S. It's been almost a year since I have been snapping photos with my 2100. The collection is getting out of hand, spread over two hard drives and operating systems. You think Thumbs Plus is good?

I need to decide on media (CD) that I can trust. I have heard the best is Kodak and Mitsui, in that order. I will probably be posting more on this later, since I'm learning a lot from other forums. Anyone care to add to this I would sure like to hear it.

Again, thanks for the good advice!!

Whew!! I'm finally done. I put off installing ThumbsPlus and
cataloging my photos with keywords for too long...(2 1/2 years to
long)...

I finally started doing it last Sunday and finished tonight...12
archived CDs full of photos...

No more guessing on which CD any favorite shots are on...I have
categories such as family, kids, babys, animals, ducks, squirells,
deer, barns, scenics, boats, cars, sunsets, rainbows, reflections,
night, lights, people, music, friends, action, photoshop fun
etc...the possibilties are endless...

Now that I'm done, I enter any keyword and the program brings up
all the thumbnail size photos in that category and tells me which
CD and folder the original is on...

Awesome! Anybody that's been thinking of doing this, do it sooner
than later cause it is a big job to go back through all your
photos...

Now that I'm current, I just have to keyword each new CD I archive...

SO much easier to be organized...especially now that cameras have
higher megapixels, you'll be burning A LOT more CDs and having a
harder time keeping track of your photos if you don't catalog
them...

Now I can relax and go out tomorrow and shoot some more photos...
