Well, the question is exactly what is considered 'entry level'.
Magnesium alloy body? Pentaprism viewfinder? AI coupling? Rubber
grip? Same AF system as in the D300 and D3?

Probably about same body and specs as D300, except for fps (more like
5fps at most).

I'm guessing only Canon could be so silly as to put a hugely expensive full frame sensor inside an entry level body (i.e. 5D). If I'm going to shell out such load of money, I'd make sure the body is durable and preferably weather proof. If not, it would seriously restrict the use of the camera (I can take my D80 out in a light rain but mainly because it's a such low budget camera, while the 5D definitely wasn't - and still isn't).

So, what I really need is a nice viewfinder (everyone loves that, but I love manual focusing, so it'd be a life-saver) and a sealed, magnesium alloy body (you've got to love the feel, but the priority should be conquering humidity and dust).

5 fps or 3 fps would be both quite fine. Silent shooting mode at 1 fps would be preferable to 5 fps, I'd say. : )
