I've had my a350 for a few weeks now and have been happy.

I have had only the 16-80 on it since new, never changed the lens (I don't have any others)

Halfway through studio-photoing some artwork today, a dirty great big dust spot appeared near the top left of the sensor.

The sensor vibe-clean mode won't shift it. I tried puffing (and huffing). Still there.

But with the lens off, I can't see the sensor because there's a big mirror in the way.
Any ideas what to do next?
Please help!

Petronia,

1. Verify that the dust is on the sensor and not on the lens.
2. Get a dust blower (most photo stores have it)

3. Go to menu and put camera in cleanup mode (Make sure battery is fully charged, etc. read user manual for sensor clean up).

This will raise the mirror and allow you to see the sensor. Dont blow on the sensor your self (with breath, moisture will condense and other things can land on the sensor. Dont touch the sensor either.

4. Usually hold the camera so that the opening faces the ground and use the dust blower, it will let the dislodged dust to fall to floor.
5. Follow the remaining instructions from the user manual.

Good luck,

N

Put the camera in cleaning more where the mirror gets locked up. I have an A200 and it's in the menus. in fact it's the last option page scrolled far to the right. i'll bet it's the same place on yours

Just now, I'd agree.
Everyone thanks for the tips; I think I'll manage from here
