This weekend I was in Houston to shoot the South Regional semi's and finals for the NCAA tournament and Nikon was there with all the gear you could shake a stick at.
Even though I'm not yet an NPS member, the great people at NikonPro let me use the following during the tournament:
D3 body (2)
400mm 2.8 VR
200mm 2.0 VR
It was great to see the look on Canon shooters' faces when they looked through the viewfinder of that beautiful body. It was an incredible pleasure to shoot with so much gear. I was able to set myself up with the idea basketball setting:
D3 with 70-200 2.8
D3 with 14-24 2.8 (on a ground pod)
D300 with 200mm 2.0 (300mm 2.0 equiv.)
I also used the D3 with a 400mm 2.8 VR on the Friday games which was perfect, since it's not too bad to hand-hold. The only problem was putting it somewhere when I switched to the D3 with 70-200, as the squares we had were quite small.
Basically- go Nikon!! Made a lot of Canon shooters green with envy, and many of them borrowed D3s to use along with their Mark IIn's and IIIs.
