Re: Qimage vs. LR

I believe Adobe Lightroom has the same sizing/cropping feature.

LR features also a "drag within the crop" - but it's instantly at
hand in the print module and you don't have to click two tiny hidden
buttons to do that ;o))) .

From what I've seen in Qimage, it sure has more possibilities than LR
in the printing area, but after 15 days, I still find the UI very
hard to use (and yes, I did RTFM, and it actually gave me more
questions than answers ;o).

IMO, they shouldn't be compared. They really are 2 different tools. I've had Qimage for years---and its a wonderful printing app. Lightroom is a DAM, RAW converter, and the print module is just a part of the whole. No, its probably not as flexible for printing as Qimage (and yes, I think the UI has always been a bit of a challenge, though better now than earlier), but if you don't want to work in several apps, then its terrific. I feel its biggest 'con' now is not being able to do softproofing as Qimage or PS do, but suspect that's coming. In the meantime, I use whatever tool works best. LR for cropping is about as easy as it comes though---and you can do it over and over with the same file---or you can do virtual copies and crop each one differently (as well as other things)--without saving any additional files or using HD space.

I'm a Qimage fan myself but use it a lot less these days I have to admit.
