Did you ever turn a mistake into a keeper?

Well, you can always look me up in Hillsboro, I work at Tuality Medical Equipment and frequently walk around Hillsboro during lunch. Let me know if you start a locals photo club or some such, I would most likely want to take part.

Thanks

Beauty is in the lens of the photographer

This is a street evangelist who was bellowing from Revelation at Pioneer Courthouse Square (Portland, OR). He was being resoundingly ignored. I had my camera with me because I was actually returning to my office after trying to find a good case for my brand new 70-300 and figured it was time to take the plunge into street work. This shot is actually a mis-focus, but I think the focus on the man in the background only serves to strengthen the story being told. Just cropped, no PP.

f/5.1, 1/200s, 215mm, ISO 200

Same shot, "proper" focus, same EXIF.

What do you think? Which one do you like best? This is actually my very first street shot, so I guess I'll post it again in next week's weekly street digest.

Regards,

Brandon

Well, #1 only works with the story behind it, it would take somebody looking at it with a creative mind to want to think about somebody blathering who is being ignored, on it's own with no story, #2 is better, IMO

I think that both together give a good example of the quality of the lens, for a "standard" pro-sumer lens, this is pretty good quality, I have been similarly impressed with my 18-180mm!
