What Vehicle do you use for photography?

I drive a 1923 model T for my work here in Vegas. Its a little cramped when you start throwing lighting equipment inside it. But it works!

Where exactly do you put your 9 ft paper roll? Might be fun to drive... but I'd imagine a motorcycle with saddle bags having more room.

Well I am a starving student so I would have to say my bike. Yup. I load my lights and stands and three flashes into a duffel bag with my camera stuff and I ride. Not comfortable, not fun. But heck it's free!

PS I almost bought an Element. Great car! The Honda Fit will surely fit everything you need as well for even better fuel economy and cost of operation.

Well camera large camera bag sits on the passanger seat, 4 AB lights with stands, softboxes, umbrellas, are on the floor (to about 3 feet out behind the seat). Folding 5x7 stand. As far as paper roll, I can squeeze a 10' muslin behind the seat, and angle the 10' stand in. It all fits in nice and tight, no rolling around. And since it takes up the passenger seat, Im not affected. And talk about a promo car, it is here in Vegas after all.

I like to get off the road to those places that a car won't get you to:

And I like to be able to get there when the weather is bad, too! (no snow photo)

Of course, in the US you have much more choice of big cars than in the UK. If you also need it to be an all-purpose family car, plus an everyday car which isn't going to bore you to death then the choice is VERY limited.

I can just about get all my studio gear in a Range Rover boot with the load cover in place. In London, you really need to keep everything out of sight and this is the only car I have found which will do this. Long stuff like rolls can go on the roof rails.

So for now, I have escaped the potential dullness of an MPV. It still makes me smile when I open up the V8 and hear that noise - sounds like a dinasour on fire!

Wow, thats pretty impressive, and now intrigued.

The 10' Muslin that you are using, how do you prevent Wrinkles? Do you stretch it flat or "wavy" when shooting?

Do you have a sample shot that I could see?

Thank you soo much.

My birthday is on thursday, so im out of town for a few days, when I get back friday Ill grab a shot for you, and as far as wrinkles go, Im only 40min. away from the other side of Vegas, I dont normally have to many wrinkle issues, but if I have get rid of some I can always use my trusty Conair Steamer that my wife uses for the curtains.

Another pic, myself in my rat:

Yea ok, it's not exactly economical :)

It's a drop in the ocean for London though - there's £8 charge to bring te car into London (soon to go up to £25 for cars lke this) and parking is not usually less that £25-£35 for the day. kinda makes the petrol cost of £10 vs £5 irrelevant.

I always add a bit to the day rate if I'm using the car.
