Okay, off the bat we can dismiss ISO 3200 and 6400 as settings to be used only in a pinch.

I should mention, though, that these were shot with no in-camera noise reduction. The K20D offers several levels of noise reduction, if you want it. I don't know how these high ISO images would look using those. In time I may try.

I should also mention that the images at 3200 and 6400 looked better in TIFF format than they do converted to JPEG. Not good, but better.

Looking at the ISO 1600 images from both cameras in Photoshop, with the K20D image at 100% and the K10D image at 120%, I see some real differences. The K20D seems to have lower noise and to be crisper overall. Details seem to be sharper.

My conclusion is that ISO 1600 on the K20D should give quite nice results. Perhaps ISO 3200 could be salvaged with some good noise reduction. I would like to try ISO 2400 to see how that looks.
