I have been producing my photos on my Epson Printer that does a great job but I want to get "real" photos from a photo finisher. I want to send a zip disk with large files to the company for high quality reproductions. Can anyone suggest a good company that can do this for a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Winn Hammond

Hi Winn:

Here is a link for prints from 8" x 10 " to 30" x 120" from digital to true photographic quality.

We have 2 photographers shooting 2-S1's here at our studio and do mostly people portrait work. This last year we used Universal Digital to handle all of our images. We send images via FTP Voyager, however they will except CD's and Zips. Kodak pro media of many kinds. We have been overwhelmingly happy with them. peview 4x5's at .25 cents each, 5x7's at $2.00 each, 8x10's at $3.50 each, 11x14'2 at $8.50 each, 16x20's at $16.95 each, 20x24 at $19.50 each. They do print larger. You would have shipping cost. They will work exclusively with you on your profile, sRGB, Adobe 98, ect. ( 419-528-3046 ) Ask for Hollie. Tell her John S1Procam gave you the tip.

Do they have a web site or email address John?
This is the company web site: http://www.udcomm.net/index.html

but this does not detail the services we use. You can contact Hollie at [email protected] she is their senior VP in charge of the division we use. Great personal service with the wanting to satisfy the customer.

We outlab to
http://www.hamiltoncolorlab.com/home.html

They are using a lightjet that outputs on fuji crystal archive photo paper upto 52" wide. They also have a fuji frontier and the owner actually has a Fuji S1 Pro that they use for studio work.

You can FTP Files to them and they send it back ups.

I have been very pleased with thier output and use them for 11R and above.

I starting using Kessler Color Lab at the beginning of this year. They are very good. Fast service and the quality is fantastic. largest digital print so far has been a 20x24 wall composite. Largest from the fuji has been a 16x20 bridal. It was excellent. Their prices are very reasonable also. Go to their web site at http://www.kesslercolor.com/ I think you will be very pleased.

I FTP most stuff to them. My schools I still send a CD. It would take forever on my slow dial up. I also like the fact you can send them a JPG file. My last lab of 17 years went digital 2 years ago but still require at TIFF file. When I would send a school from the S1 I had to send 5 to 6 CD's and rename each one to my order number. I had to leave that lab but love Kessler Color. They do a great job.

If you send them a file they will print you a free 16x20 just to try them. You will go back. At $1.95 pre 8x10.... nobody beats them.

I met John Fulton on this forum and he pointed me to Universal Digital. I am a very very happy now that my lab is Universal Digital. Their service is outstanding, and staff is awesome to work with. I use FTP BulletProof to upload files. My customers say that their prints are better than anything they've ever seen from film. When they're happy, I'm elated!. Tell Hollie that Cindy AND John set you! : ) Thanks John for telling me about Universal Digital!

You may also want to try your one hour lab. Most are printing Digital from several different media's.
