Some two months ago I had asked for advice regarding use of the Raynox HD-6600 wide angle converter with the Panasonic F50. Three members wrote that they were not happy with the soft edges one got with the Raynox. After looking at other options, I took a chance with the Kodak 1033323 0.7x converter with a 55mm thread. I got it cheaply at an overstock site (for $75 incl shipping). I find that it works very well. I have attached 3 photos, one with the native lens at the widest (equiv 35mm), one with the Kodak converter and F50 at widest (equiv 24.5 mm) and one with the Kodak lens and F50 zoom at 1.4x (net equiv 35 mm), giving roughly the same view as the native lens. I do not see any edge softness. I have attached nearly maximum size photos, so that they can be examined critically.
As shown above, one can zoom through the lens. That means that I have continuous wide angle from 24.5 equiv to the native 35mm.
The kodak converter has a Schneider Xenar lens. I think this is a very good lens to use with the F50. I recommend this to "skyglider" who wrote on Feb 9. One can get it for a price between $95 and $110.
Best wishes to all.
