If you have these, what printer settings do you use with this Ilford paper?

I followed Ilford's recommendations and am using their profile, but am wondering if I made the right choice of feed path and paper-type setting.

My first and only color print with the GFS paper had some black markings near the upper right corner, which some suggested were head strikes. The print came out of the machine very curled--high in the middle. It's flat now. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1003&message=26510016

I used the single sheet feeder with the paper source set for Manual Roll, and chose Epson Premium Semigloss as the paper-type. It'is an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.

I'm also wondering if there is not some way to independently set the printer for paper thickness. I understand that paper-type sel;ection determines both head to paper gap, and ink quantity. The print was beautiful--except for the damaged spots--so I'd rather not change any more than is necessary to avoid the head strikes, if that is in fact what they were.

I'd rather not give up on this paper but need to make it work reliably.
