Cheapest way to get decent underwater Photos?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but.....

I am going to hawaii in May and we will be doing a significant amount of snorkeling, as well as going in a shark cage to view sharks in the ocean. Getting an underwater enclosure for my D300 is most definitely not an option due to cost and the fact that it would probably only be used once (which would be the 10 days im on holidays and then probably never again).

What would be the best low cost/highest possible performance solution for underwater pictures? Can you buy cheap underwater digital cameras for $100 or so? Or are those disposable underwater cameras going to be my best bet? If so, is there any way to get good results with those disposable underwater cameras? I don't even know how they focus or if their always just set to infinity. I think they all come with ISO 800 film inside.

Any comments/tips/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Mark
