I agree about the similarity between D300 Vivid & D2X Mode III. They both pack enough saturation punch without appearing cartoonish. One thing I come away with from this test is a willingness to shoot in Standard & Neutral, capture an accurate base image and afterwards apply filters & effects.

As to the MET & tripods - they're allowed on weekdays but NOT weekends. Of course flash is strictly verboten. Strangely my beloved Musuem of Natural History allows flash but not tripods (they do, however accommodate Triceratops)
