D300 Shooting Mode Samples

I used a few masterworks at NYC's MET museum to compare seven shooting modes.

The set below and the other sets available at http://jimi1127.smugmug.com/gallery/4031781#234711527 all progress in the following order:

Standard - Neutral - Vivid - D2X Mode I - D2X Mode II, D2X Mode III and finally Ken Rockwell's High Saturation Settings.

Tried my best to control those pesky variables - Used 50mm 1.8, Tripod, Timer,

A Priority, RGB Adobe, Auto White Balance, AF-S, ISO 200, Noise & Sharpening OFF. Gallery lighting was consistent.

Bottom line for me (and I assume you too) is subject matter determines settings (especially shooting mode choice) but I found the results a decent illustration of the choices open to us.
