I finally found one of my Minolta Mirror books, the 1976 issue about
the American cowboy. In the process, I found my old Minolta SLR
binders (which covered a lot of history and models up to the SRT
202). Back then I owned several Minoltas and still have my first
SLR, the SRT 101, and what many feel was the best Minolta ever, the
XE-7 (which was also sold by Leica, except with cosmetics and the
Leica R lens mount, as the R3).

Not certain when Minolta started publishing the Mirror, but I do
remember they were hard to come by (even non-Minolta photographers
bought them). Oh, the Amphoto Minolta binder set (I gave the first
edition to my cousin) were, and still are, great photographic
reference guides.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for your reply at least now I now the Mirror was published as early as 1976.

I started with X-700 in the early 80s, my elder brother who is also a Minolta user actually influenced me of the choice (so i can borrow his arsenal of lenses..lol) and yes he has the SRT-101 too, great camera.

Anyway during those hey days of my photography, collecting books, magazines and especially catalogues of all kinds of cameras was at its earnest. Today they don't produce so much printed materials to promote their products due to advent of the internet and that's sad (well maybe it does save a few trees).

Browsing through these 'old' references you find gems even in today's digital age.
