Thanks for the kind words. I have read the manual's suggestion but also read some positive comments online here. As far as I can tell there are no drawbacks for my photography and the advantage I seem to see is a little less noise. I can also use lower shutter speeds to blur waterfalls ... easier than putting on a filter.
Whether mine is a valid observation will depend on rigorous tests that are in the works, not just anecdotal evidence from folks like me. That said, if it works for me, I use it.
