D80 Overexposure

It amazes me

That People buy a D80 and expect it to do their creative work automatically.

The D80 does not over expose It has a light meter which gives a greater weight to the active Focus sensor, the D50 also had this just with slightly less weight.

In Matrix the camera will average the scene to 18% grey then slightly adjust that to give exposure on the object you are focusing on, given that 90% of the time you focus on an object so that is the central theme of your photo it makes perfect sense.

The D80 behaves remarkably like my D50 did and I've had no trouble adapting in the weeks since my upgrade. But maybe thats because I don't expect the camera to make my creative decisions for me, I do expect it to help which it does.

Chill people and take control of your camera don't expect the camera to control you!
