Nikon D3 focus with 9 fps on flying mallard

These new pictures of a male mallard were taken today. The wheather was a lot better, but still pretty dark (Sun behind the hill.) All pictures are downsized and cropped and include a 100% extract of the mallard's head. Only the first picture is not a crop, in order to show the real size of the bird in the first cropped picture.

Because of the bad light (but now with excellent contrast) the Iso is very high 6400 + 0,3EV i.e. ISO 12800! Remember to take that in consideration. Because of the bad light I unfortunately found it necessary to keep the aperture pretyy high at f4,5. With aperture at let us say f5,6 sharpness in the whole body and especially the head would have been better. My conclusion in anyway is taht the result here is outstanding. Remember, these 11 iamges has been taken in 1,2 seconds!

I'd like to see others do the same experiment as I have made, hopefully in better light and ISO at let's say 200 - 400.
