Canon 5D Mk II vs Sony Alpha 900

My predictions...

Canon 5D Mk II

  • 15MP

  • liveview

  • full-frame

  • light weather-sealing

  • 4fps

  • 3" LCD, 320x240xRGB

  • 30 AF lines = 1 double-cross + 13 crosses

  • full-frame viewfinder with 0.75x magnifcation (96% coverage)

Sony Alpha 900

  • 16-18MP

  • anti-shake

  • full-frame

  • full weather-sealing

  • 5-6fps

  • 3" LCD, 640x480xRGB

  • 26 AF lines = 1 double-cross + 1 double-length F2.8 line + 10 crosses

  • full-frame viewfinder with 0.73x magnifcation (100% coverage)

(The viewfinder stats I nabbed from the Minolta Maxxum 9 film SLR)

Note that the Canon 5D Mk II cannot be seen to equal or exceed the Canon 1Ds Mk III, so Sony have an advantage in that respect.
