For the second year in a row I spent the day before Thanksgiving at Elkhorn Slough. This year I saw an unbelievable number of raptors although most of them were too far away or I missed the shot. As usually there were lots of pelicans and egrets. Here are a few images that I am happy with. All were taken with the 20D and 400/5.6 (a few might have the Tamron 1.4x.
These aren't "smoking" fresh, but I've been travelling so much I haven't had a chance to participate. Finally home for a couple of weeks before heading for Southern California for Christmas... Anyway here's a few from a business trip to NY the end of September and the kingfishers are taken in Southern Sweden:

Over the weekend while at Ed Levin park, a belted kingfisher with a fish on his mouth landed right outside my car. Only problem it was in front of me, while my 500mm was pointing outside my side window. So I just sit there and watch it fly off.
Wow, nice shots, I especially like the second one, the Bokeh is unbelievable, it makes the picture have a 3D look, the bird seems to be popping out of the image!
All fine captures Michael, but 1 and 2 are over the top for me! Unfotunately, we only get the belted up here in Canada and your capture of these ones are gorgeous!
