Using PS CS2 I retouched this image and wanted to get some comments. Also, I've uploaded my .psd file to my server if anyone would like to retouch to their liking and please post here.

Unretouched image

Retouched

I've not done much retouching in about a year and very rusty. Comments appreciated.

Note: This psd file is about 5mb in size

duped layer> Kodak Pro SHO filter> changed blend mode to soft light> flattened> duped layer> blend mode multiply> reduced opacity 50 > layer mask to paint hair to bring out color. gc

Fabulous odessit!!! My BW rendition pales in comparison.

Can you give me a few pointers on what you did?
Thanks,

Darrell

Your posing needs to be refined. Photoshop will help but there is way too much skin in the one of her arm.

I did this retouch for another member to show a point about the womens hand .See the huge difference in the two. Remember this when shooting.

Hope this helps, Fred

all this was done on Nikon NX
Before

after

Selena is not a model, but a friend and she actually didn't want images that make her look too glamorous as I shot these for her to use in her MySpace or other personal sites I guess. Of course, she happens to be a very attractive lady and none of us can resist making her look as beautiful as possible.

Posing - This was a late afternoon shoot that we spent 1.5 hours total time including setup of one Alien Bees strobe and bounce umbrella and Vagabond battery pack as this was at the fountain in Griffith Park in Los Angeles. We shot about 100 images and about 6-8 poses including some using a reflector and natural light, but we started at 3:30pm with sunset at 4:45pm and it was dark by 5:30pm so we were rushing to beat the darkness. It was really tough because it was not like using a regular experienced model that has dozens of ready poses... It was very difficult with Selena to get a facial expression that I liked and so I wasn't worrying about a perfect studio pose, I was more interested in just getting a nice facial look was the main challenge.

I also have Capture NX, but I guess I need to read the manual as I didn't think it was capable of the image editing you did with your example. Thanks.
