I wondered about that. Makes sense.

I have come to accept the idea that small sensor cameras don't have
any advantage for handheld shooting with a deep DOF.

I haven't really taken much time to analyze this, but the bulk of my
experience says that the greater DOF is a reality for small-sensor
cameras, in general.

I think so too, especially in low light. I plan to do some more testing, but I don't think ISO 4500 on the 5D can match ISO 200 on a Canon G9, or my Ricoh GX100 for that matter. I don't think it can match your FZ50 ISO 200 either, and that has a slightly smaller sensor still.
