spoke to salesman today and he stated that he will be getting enough camers next week to fill all back orders. Sounds fishy

I got email from Mike the other day. That time i was #19 and he told me that i would got mine in May. I am so tired of checking and waiting. I will just forget about the camera for 2 weeks. Then hopefully by May, there will be some good news.

Interesting. I will have to call them as I am one of those backorders. I talked to them on Monday and at that time they had no idea how many cameras would be coming or when.
OTH, their backorder list is pretty short.

Well, in support of onecall.com I can say that I have ordered many things from them in the past and they have always been on the up-and-up. I ordered my D60 from them the last week of March and recieved it last week with free overnight shipping. I was #11 on the original waiting list.

Onecall is quite reputable. I don't think they'd say they're getting cameras in unless they really beleived it. I'm in the high 20's on their backorder list. The gentleman I spoke with was very accomodating.

I called them today. I am #18 on the list and was told it would be about another month before I got mine. The salesman said that they are only getting in 3-4 a week and no expectation that that would change any time soon.
I am also on the list at PCconnection and they say they are expecting enough to fill all backorders around May 15th.
Looks like we're in waiting mode.

Had you been a guy, I would've suggested that you threaten them with a picture of yourself topless. But you're not a guy, so there.
If you want the D60 really really bad, then come to Oslo. It's about $300 more expensive here though (plus 24% VAT which you can probably avoid, on account of you being a foreigner and all).
I was hoping to save those $300 by buying the camera during a small trip to the states next month, but judging by what I read here, that's simply not going to happen due to the general lack of availability.

Did you order today or just call to check on your order? When did you order? When I placed mine (April fools day), they said I would get the last one on a shipment coming in on the 13th. Of course, I didn't get it, so I am wondering now if they were pulling my leg!!!

the "good" news is that when I called last Saturday is that they still believe more cameras will be flowing in soon. I think they may be more optomistic than I am at this point...
