Ethernet vs. USB for printer connection?

I've got a new Epson 3800. I can hook it up to my network via ethernet or I can connect it into one of my computers via USB and let that computer by the print server for it.

What are the pros/cons of the two approaches? If I use ethernet, does one PC on my network still have to act as a print server or does the printer stand-alone on the network as it's own print server and anyone can print to it without any specific computer having to be on?

If you own an Epson 3800, which did you choose and why?
