Controls: Most things done through manual dials and buttons. Avoid creating a menu on the LCD. No repurposing of any button or control.

Total disagreement. A HUGE LCD, covering the entire back of the camera has to be fully programmable with no mechanical buttons at all. Initially with just two buttons. "Shutter", and "Go To Other Modules".

Pentax would provide maybe two or three of these modules. For example, the second module would have two more buttons; "Aperture" and Shutter Speed". Additional modules 'ape' the existing 'scene' functions. Other modules would be easy to program in a cross-platform browser-independent application like java - just like HyperCard. Also, easy to exchange the modules with other photographers. Some people like sliders, others like buttons. Give them that choice. If a 'simple' camera is restricted, it won't be expandable for future use. If someone doesn't like a button, buy/download/make your own module.

Non-changeable buttons or mechanical controls are an expensive dead end that have a tendency to fail. Samsung already makes such a touch-sensitive panel. Make it user replaceable.

Interchangeable lenses are critical. Why else would Pentax want to support such a camera long-term?
