While taking these two shots right in my own back yard, I learned a few things about snapping turtles.
1. They are very grumpy.
2. They have a deceptive;y long neck that they can use to strike like a snake.

3. Their legs are so strong, that in spite of their weight, they can actually jump as they lunge forward.

Fortunately, I still have all of my fingers, and only minor damage to my macro lens.
