Lens for butterflies ?

Currently I am using Canon for most things and Minolta for butterflies since there is no Canon macro with IS.

I have a trip in February and don't want to take my Minolta as I should have 2 Canon bodies by then (1Ds MkIII and 30D). So what do I do for butterflies ?

I currently have Sigma 300-800 and canon 100-400, do I:

1) Use extension tubes with 100-400 and put up with weight and only 2 stop IS
2) Buy 70-200 f4 IS which will probably focus close enough on its own

3) Forget about IS and get the 100 macro then trade it in when Canon release an IS macro
4) Another suggestion

Anyone got samples from the 70-200 f4 IS at close focus ?
