Well, still not an easy decision to carry ~3 lbs vs 1.9 lbs.

As much as I'd like to get a lighter weight tripod and start snapping more interesting panoramic pictures, among other uses, I am truly torn between the brand new Slik "EZ" head that they are SO proud of (!) but that version of the Slik Sprint Pro "EZ" is almost 3 lbs! well, maybe 2.8 or 2.9 pounds.

the other option is to go for a plain ol' simple ball head and that version of the Slik Sprint Pro "Ball head" is around 1.9 pounds.

BIG difference! What do most of the good folks here think?

Would like to just run to B&H and get one but really don't want to make another msitake - my current one is a really heavy Gitzo with a Manfrotto head, SO heavy but well made and gorgeously finished. Big deal, I don't want to carry that outside at all!
