I am more worried that the IS won't work on my EOS 300 (not 300V, not 300X) film camera. I would find it an particular advatange over the Sigma 18-200mm to have one superzoom that would work on both the slide film EOS 300 and the digital EOS 20D. I wonder why the power circuitry on the EOS 300 film camera is insufficent for this light lens, it runs the IS of the much heavier Canon 100-400mm flawlessly.
