Re: The Canon D60, underwater. :)

Nico,

Camerasunderwater ( http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/web_site/slr/main_pages/slr_housings.html ) had the info on their web site so I emailed Hugyfot to ask what the price will be. Following the answer I got:

Hello Petri,

We will bring the Canon D30 housing beginning Mai 2002 in new design, 3D
machined from full alu bloc. Please let us this time to make everything as
it has to be: high quality and nice and handy designed.

the price will be around 1.800 €.

If you are interested, please write us, that we inform you, when we have
delivery news and pictures. Thanks.

Best regards, René

So, I asked them to let me know as soon as it is finished.

Regards,

Petri

Petri,

Hi! I just visited the Hugyfot site and I saw no mention of any
D30/D60 housing. Did Hugyfot confirm to you that they will, indeed,
be introducing a D30/D60 housing this May? If this is true, I may
wait until the housing is released before housing my D30 so that I
could compare its price and features to the UK-Germany housing. I
was ready to order a housing from UK-Germany since I will be diving
on the first week of May but have yet to receive a reply to the
email I sent to Uwe. I just read on this thread that getting a D30
housing from UK-Germany requires a long lead time and since I will
not be able to get the housing on time, I decided to postpone the
housing purchase. Are you also getting a housing for your D30/D60?

Hugyfot's site also has some info on a new digital strobe. The
strobe specs indicate that it supports both Nikon and Canon TTL,
has a recycle time of
settings. Does Canon TTL mean E-TTL? It is my understanding that
Canon TTL is E-TTL so if my hunch is right, this will be the first
strobe that can use E-TTL with a housed Canon DSLR. Costing around
U$1,400, this strobe ain't cheap.
