Another problem with the 40D +TC+100-400L IS

There is not only the AF problem with the center points, there is another problem with the IS!!!

The IS on my 'naked' 100-400L IS is working great with my 40D and with the Kenko X1.4 PRO300 it is working very bad, it is making a movement after pressing the shutter and causing to a moting blair in the picture!!!
This is with slow shutter and handheld.

I tried this combo on my old 20D and it is working great.

It seems that I've made a B I G mistake buying the 40D, I have lot of pictures and situations that I am using the X1.4TC and now this is a very B I G problem to me,
I am very dissapointed!!!

This is an unscientific example to show the problem:

the left column are pictures from the 40D and the right pictures from the 20D,

you can see the differences at once on the bird and on the perch, the pictures are unprocessed, just resized to this size.
These are three different pictures to each camera, the same conditions.
