I have spent a lot of time trying to build a lens that will give the 3-4X oly owners a crack at the UZI power. Please look at these and tell me if you think I have made it or not. I will look forward to you comments. The captions should tell the story but for reference there are two shots each with the C2000 and C2100. First set was just max with lens and the second was with the addition of the C200 teleconverter.

Jeff,

These are awesome! I like the first two shots the best, the third looks like there is some CA or something as there is a purple tinge to the shot.

Could you post a picture of the set up and also tell me what hardware is needed to stack these lenses. Maybe I don't have to go out and get a S602, maybe I can do your setup on my C3030.

Sound like you're going to start a business selling lenses. Are you? ;-)

Quality looks fine. Sharpness gets less towards the corners of the images, but hey, how many 3x-4x lenses are there for the c-series of cameras?

Where did you go? You got everyone lathered up over this new "C200" invention:) Pics look great, congrats on whatever you did.

Btw, did you get your LCD screen? I just got mine today, and it works very well -- thanks for the tip on that.

Lower Bird feeder looks sharper to me with the uzi2100 c200 set up would the "IS" lense account for this, or were they all shot off a tripod?

As I see it: Between the 1st & 4th you prettymuch achieved what I think you specified what you were trying to get. The only flaw is the distortion at the top left coener of the 1st shot but the center of both pics looks pretty damn similar....

Ok Jeff, either your "C200" is a variable zoom lens, or you have a typo in your captions. I have a feeling your invention has variable zoom from 2x to 4x, but i'm sure you'll clear this up shortly!

Good for you, Jimmie.

So I guess you stack lenses? Or maybe you're more like me, unable to resist a good deal on an olympus lens converter ;-)

I wonder what Jeff is up to. Maybe he just wanted to show us the latest version of his homemade slr lens tele. If not, he sure has a gift for marketing, what with all the people here watching this thread with anticipation :-)

Sorry Guys I got captured to plant new shrubs. I will read all the posts and answer your questions shortly. First off I think my head went south when I made the captions. The C200's should all read A200.

The lens is a 200MM F3.5 Slr with a super takumar 55MM lens as an eye piece. I will post a picture of it along with a materials list later today.

I used a tripod for the home brew lens and handled the UZI on top of it for those shots.

I will get back to you all shortly and thanks for the comments.

Thanks to all who replied. I also want to say that this was not my own idea but the result of reading several good posts here. I guess it all started about 5 monts ago when I asked if there was a way to use SLR lens on digital camera's.

Well here is the update. I f any of your questions were not answered please let me know. I enjoy this type of thing and of course the feedback good or bad it all helps.

Wow....that looks incredibly complex...but the result is also pretty amazing! ....what is the reason for the C200 teleconverter? Would that have to be used in addition to a 300 lens? Sorry, I may be asking questions beyond my understanding anyway. I'll be following this thread to learn from other peoples questions.
