No, no, no! If this is your first SLR ( D or analog) your best investment is to buy a good book about photography techniques and download the 40D manual ( do a search in dpreview so you save time when you receive the camera). Subscribe to a good photo magazine.

Keep the kit lens and go out taking pictures. As time goes buy you will know yourself what you need....

Large collection of obscure vintage glass that no-one else can get
and appropriate adapters.
