Lens warning

Hello All,

I have just experienced a problem with my e500. I think it was working right, but one of my photographers didn't catch it.

A whole days worth of photos came out blurry, very blurry. I don't have one to show you because they were all erased. I looked at the exif data and it showed the focal length at 0mm and the aperture at 0. I originally thought she had accidentally changed it to manual focus.

After trying to get the camera to do it again, I finally figured out that she must have pushed the lens release button and it was slightly turned, because I got the same results in the EXIF data.

Is there a way to have the camera not take pictures or to give a warning on the screen if it is not communicating with the lens?
