First photos with XTI, give me feedback.

They look fine, all they really need is a little fine tuning.

Do some SLIGHT levels adjustment so it gets slightly brighter
Raise the contrast slightly
And a wee bit of sharpness added

and those photos will pop really well.

I agree with RonFlash. Composition is good, you have a good eye. The pictures lack a little "snap" which is a matter of contrast, and sharpness. If that was shot in the XTi's default setting of Standard, which has a sharpness setting of +3, try setting it to +5.

I see that you have been a member of this forum for some time now. You use to own a Sony camera? Which model?

The jump to DSLR is always a little surprising as in-camera processing is much less present than on P&S.

I read somewhere previously on this forum that the digital revolution did not completely eliminated the legacy need for photo development. Only the methods (and tools) have changed. A picture directly out of a DLSR often needs to be ajusted slightly or a lot as many variables must be taken into account (sharpness, saturation, white balance, etc.).

Good luck.

Regards,

I may be wrong, but I may be right.

Nice job with the contrast. Yes a P41 Sony, just a point and shoot then a Fijifilm S7000 and now the Canon which is my favorite.
