Went for the A650 after All

I was discussing things with Fish Chris and Co about the 630 and 640 but our local comet was out of the 630 - Jessops are £199 for the 640 with only a very well handled display model available locally (and others who have it at £179 charge carriage anyway) and my local LCE who we deal with a lot said they'd to the 650 IS for £250 which is cheaper than anywhere online and only £50 more than the shop mauled jessops A640 - I loved that lens on the G7, it'll be nice to have it in a camera with a grip and a decent optical viewfinder to make the most of the IS

So Folks - I took the 12Mp Smeary Digic-III route to get a great lens and IS for £50 ......... body and handling wisel, it's basically like the A620 I praised, owned fora year and foolishly sold..

From my quick shots so far, don't think for onme minute that you're getting a pocket sized 5D with a 35-210 F2.8-4.8L IS fitted because you're not , the 5D doesn't do live view for a start .. but the detail seems pretty good and at least as good resized to 10Mp as the 640 or 8Mp as the 630 and there's a lot of cropping space there .......

I'll report as times go on .. I have the F30 for High ISOs anyway but the shot below is ISO200 - 4Mp was cropped from the 12Mp image to give the closeup of the street Preacher and then that was resized to 1024X768
