Will this one feel like a toy in your hands like the Alpha?

All it needs to do is have good balance, ergonomics and survive
drops/elements. There are things in the world that are made with
composites that are super light and feel pretty flimsy to someone who
isn't in the know but are stronger than steel. In the times we live
in, "feeling like a toy" isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't
jump to the conclusion that heavier = sturdier without studying its
internal design and real world performance.

It was a reasonable question. The A100 is toy like due to use of plastics in the external shell. The Nikon D80 is plastic compared to the D200 which is metal. The D80 is not as tough, and flexes more. These plastics are not composites. The latter are expensive and difficult to produce.

From the information available the A700 is a so-called pro-sumer camera with a part metal, part plastic, exterior shell.
