Do anyone know if it is possible to download photos from G2 to Win95? I installed Canon's software that was supplied with the camera, but it didn't work.

Isabella,

Unfortunately, the G2 will not connect via USB to a Win95 machine. Don't be fooled, there are some versions of Win95 that claim to support USB, but it doesn't work, period. You must have Win98 or higher to get USB to work for you (sidenote: your best bet is to do a clean install of Win98 as opposed to the "upgrade" from 95 to 98)

Isabella,

Are you using notebook computer? If so, I can suggest that you buy a Sandisk CompactFlash to PC Card adapter ($19.95CDN at FutureShop). This device works fine with Windows 95, and allows you to download images to your hard drive. Then you can use BreezeBrowser for image browsing. This solution works great for me, and I didn't have to upgrade from Windows 95. If your computer doesn't have PC Card Slots (also called PCMCIA Slots) I can't help you.

Great suggestion Ron! I do use a PC card adapter on my laptop even though I do have USB on it because it is MUCH faster. I wasn't even thinking about Isabella possibly having a laptop.....

Be careful with card services in 95. They are not as good as they are in 98 and newer. Some times a PC Card (PCMCIA) just will not work in 95. The brand of the flash card could make a big difference in 95.

You may want to update your computer and/ or operating system to bring it into the current century. Win 95 isn't really supported by anything or any body . Even win 98 is somewhat outdated or will be soon. the name of the game today is win 2000 or win xp. Buying a camera with up to date technology and then try and running it on a out dated computer comparable to the horse and buggy days, is asking for trouble down the road with cameras, card readers, and storage media.

Just my opinion for whatever it's worth. You don't have to agree.
