Yeah, your'e right I suppose, I was ranting and exaggerated the problem to make the D3 sound better. I should not have done that. The AF on the D2X isn't that bad. As with all cameras, you have to wait a split second to let the AF acquire the object then push down to fire the shutter. With the D3 you don't have to think about it as much as I recall. Even the Mark III loses AF with fast subjects at some point. I'm just glad I will be able to continue to shoot indoor sports with my Nikon 200/2.0 with the D3 when I get one, that lens is the greatest 35mm lens I have ever owned.
