Film Scanners Nikon coolscan V, 5000, and Minolta 5400 II

For those that are scanning 35mm negatives, which scanner would you recommend:

Nikon Coolscan V ED
Nikon Cololscan 5000 ED
Minolta Scan Elite 5400 II (used since discontinued)

I have read several reviews and the Minolta seems to have higher resolution (final image output) and has better noise reduction. The problem is that it is not longer in production. I don't have an issue buying a used one. I have about 1000-1500 negatives to scan and then I'll probably sell it as I'm not shooting film any longer. I just want to get what film I have digitized.

What do folks recommend that have experience with these scanners?
