Here is the math with LCD samples (Canon & Nikon)

240 x 320 = 76,800 x 3 = 230,400
480 x 640 = 307,200 x 3 = 921,600

307,200 / 76,800 = 4
921,600 / 230,400 = 4

If you notice, you can see simple pixelation in the Canon 240x320 screen that you can not see in the Nikon 480x640 screen.
