TIFF can be either 8 or 16 bits.

So, in order of quality/flexibility, you would have :

NEF (everything done in PP) > TIFF (demosaicing, WB, gamma and color rendition done in camera but 16 bits and no compression) > JPEG (compression, 8bits)
