I got to try out the D3 today

I got to try out the D3 today at the Nikon Professional Preview Party in Osaka, held to coincide with the 2007 IAAF World Athletics Championships. The images I shot at 6400 are as noise free as the Canon EOS 1D Mark III. We cannot post the images per Nikon agreement. Let me tell you this is the camera we've all been waiting for. This shutter is rated at 300,000 clicks. Nikon said they had expected that digital camera users would shoot and correct their exposures rather than frequently shoot rapid fire. i.e. not shoot so many frames during the lifetime of the cameras. I had heard frequently of shutter failures as early as 35,000, 50,000, 75,000, 100,000 clicks. The brochures Nikon passed out today in Osaka rates the shutter life at 300,000 clicks. It's nice to know Nikon has finally solved the shutter failure problem.
