I did my research for my new Pentax K10D and the best deal I came up with was for the K10D + 18-55 lens from Pixmania using the PriceRunner discount and sell off the unwanted lens on ebay. The order arrived yesterday in a largish flimsy carboard box which contained the camera and the lens in their original Pentax boxes but with NO packing - the external box was about twice the capacity of the contents, so allowing them to rattle around inside with consequent, as it luckily turned out minor, damage to the Pentax boxes but not very good for ebay sell off.
Opened the K10D box - it contained one operating manual - in French! I contacted Pixmania (eventually) and the very rude person I spoke to told me that a printed manual in English was not available. I stated that I wanted to return the camera and was told that it would have to be sent to Pixmania at my own expense, and that a refund of my money would take about 14 days plus that my original carriage charge would not be refunded. On checking the other possible suppliers I found that I would be paying considerably more to replace the camera (cost of camera plus 3 delivery charges) so decided to keep it. I then contacted Pentax UK for English manual availability and was told by the very pleasant lady that an English manual was available for £20 but none in stock and would have to wait an estimated 14 days for a copy to be sent from Pentax Europe.
At the same time as the Pixmania purchase I bought 2 lenses, one from CameraKing and one from WarehouseExpress, both arrived before the camera and both were well packed.
I was pleased that all the items bought had obviously not been unpacked from their boxes, it is always a worry that you can end up with someone else's returned equipment.
