iMac 24 screen brightness and "hum" question.
I finally made up my mind and got the previous iMac 24 inch (white, 2.14 core 2 duo at CompUSA for $1699). It is one sweet machine fo sho!
My only complaint is I have the "display hum" when the brightness is turned down. I've been reading this seems to be a fairly common issue. I don't think I will return it and risk the replacement haven't the same problem or worse yet, having dead pixels.
When brightness is at 100% there is no hum. Since I don't want to burn my eyeballs, I use the brightness control called Shades. I find the one from Splasm overides my calibration profile. Haven't tried printing yet so not sure about it all.
I have heard Coloreyes is great at calibrating the "too bright iMac 24" BUT can it be successfully done with the system brightness at 100%? Any thought?
